Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and the operators of Clearwater Roleplay (“Clearwater,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your access to and use of:

• the public website at cwrpvc.lol and related pages;
• Clearwater Internet, including feeds, profiles, messages, reels, polls, notifications, and settings;
• Discord sign-in, session cookies, and membership checks;
• staff tools, owner tools, and other community services we operate in connection with the site.

By visiting the site, signing in with Discord, checking the agreement box on the sign-in page, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use the Service on behalf of a group, department, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

2. Who we are

Clearwater Roleplay is a private Emergency Response: Liberty County (“ER:LC”) roleplay community. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation, Discord Inc., or the developers of ER:LC except as a community that uses those platforms.

“You” means the person accessing the Service, including the Discord account used to sign in. “Content” means text, images, videos, GIFs, polls, location pins, profile information, and any other material submitted through the Service.

3. Eligibility

You may use the Service only if all of the following are true:

• You are at least 13 years old, and you meet the minimum age required by Discord, Roblox, and the laws of your country.
• You are allowed to use Discord and Roblox under their own terms.
• You have not been permanently banned from Clearwater Roleplay, Clearwater Internet, or the related Discord server in a way that still applies.
• For Clearwater Internet: you are a current member of the Clearwater Roleplay Discord server (guild ID 1514026810348671026).

Clearwater Internet is a members-only community feed. If you leave the Discord server, or if we cannot confirm membership, we may suspend or ban the linked Internet account so it cannot be used while you are outside the community.

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly allow under-13 accounts. If we learn that an under-13 user has signed in, we will terminate that access.

4. Accounts and Discord sign-in

4.1 How accounts work

You sign in with Discord OAuth. We do not create a separate password for cwrpvc.lol. Your Clearwater Internet identity is tied to your Discord user ID, username, display name, avatar, banner, and server membership/roles.

You must keep control of your Discord account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs through a session created with that account, including posts, messages, media uploads, likes, follows, reports, and dropped locations.

4.2 Prohibited account use

You may not:

• share, sell, or lend your Discord account to evade a ban, warning, automod hold, or staff action;
• create or use alternate Discord accounts to bypass membership checks, bans, hashed network blocks, or rate limits;
• impersonate another member, department, or the official Clearwater Roleplay account;
• attempt to access another person’s session, cookies, or staff/owner tools.

4.3 Official account

Ownership staff may post as the official Clearwater Roleplay Internet account. That account is a community channel, not a personal profile. Unauthorized use of official branding, verified marks, or owner tools is prohibited.

5. Clearwater Internet

Clearwater Internet is a community social feed. Features may include:

• posts, replies, quotes, likes, bookmarks, and follows;
• direct messages and notifications;
• images, GIFs, polls, and short video/photo reels with comments;
• Drop Location pins mapped from the Clearwater ER:LC server onto the official Liberty County map;
• privacy settings, deactivation, and account deletion;
• staff review of reports, automod holds, warnings, and bans.

We may add, change, limit, or remove features at any time. Posting is only available on certain feed tabs. Some views, such as Following and Official, may be read-only for composing new posts.

Content you publish can be seen by other signed-in members according to your privacy settings and the nature of the feature (for example, public posts versus direct messages). Do not post anything you are not willing to have staff review if it is reported or held by automod.

6. Drop Location and ER:LC

Drop Location is optional. If you use it, the Service asks the Clearwater ER:LC server which player matches your Discord username, nickname, or display name in the Clearwater Roleplay Discord server, and may also use a linked Roblox identity when available. It then places a pin on the official Liberty County map using in-game coordinates.

• You should only drop a location that belongs to your own in-game character.
• While a location is attached to a draft post, it may refresh about every 15 seconds until you remove it or publish the post.
• A published pin is a snapshot stored with the post. It is not a live tracker of other players.
• Location data depends on Discord membership, ER:LC API availability, and you actually being in the Clearwater server. It can be wrong, delayed, or unavailable.

ER:LC, Roblox, and the ER:LC API are third-party services. Their outages, rate limits, or rule changes are outside our control. Using Drop Location does not give you any extra rights in-game.

7. Community rules and prohibited conduct

You must follow Clearwater Roleplay’s Discord rules, in-game conduct rules, and these Terms. You may not use the Service to:

• threaten, harass, stalk, dox, or incite violence against anyone;
• post hate speech, slurs, or content that attacks people based on protected characteristics;
• post sexual content involving minors, or any sexualization of minors, including roleplay, images, or “jokes”;
• share another person’s real-world personal information, addresses, phone numbers, school, workplace, or private photos without permission;
• scam, phish, impersonate staff, or distribute malware, invite floods, or stolen accounts;
• spam, repeatedly advertise unrelated communities, or manipulate engagement;
• upload illegal content, or content you do not have the right to post;
• attempt to probe, scrape, overload, or reverse engineer the site, APIs, bot bridge, or session cookies;
• interfere with automod, reports, hashed identifiers, or staff review;
• use the Service in violation of Discord, Roblox, or ER:LC policies.

Roleplay on the Internet feed is still subject to these rules. “It’s just RP” is not a defense for real-world harassment, illegal content, or child-safety violations.

8. Your content and license

You retain ownership of Content you create. You are solely responsible for it, including that it is lawful and that you have all rights needed to post it.

By posting or sending Content, you grant Clearwater Roleplay a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt (for formatting, compression, or moderation), and distribute that Content on the Service so that feeds, profiles, messages, reels, quotes, notifications, backups, and staff tools can operate. This license lasts for as long as the Content remains on the Service, including copies retained for moderation, security, or legal reasons as described in the Privacy Policy.

You also grant other members a limited right to view and interact with Content that is visible to them under your settings (for example, liking, quoting, or replying).

We may refuse, hold, edit metadata for, or remove Content that violates these Terms, Discord/Roblox/ER:LC rules, or the law. Removal from the public feed does not always erase staff logs or reports.

9. Automod, reports, and staff action

Posts and messages may be scanned by automated filters before they are published. Content that appears to violate rules may be held for staff instead of going live. Filters are imperfect. They can miss violations and can hold innocent Content.

Members may report Content. Ownership and other authorized staff may:

• warn an account;
• remove posts, messages, or media;
• ban an account for a set period or permanently;
• apply hashed network-level blocks to reduce ban evasion;
• restrict Internet access when Discord membership cannot be confirmed.

Warnings, bans, and membership holds may be shown the next time you open Clearwater Internet. Staff decisions are made for the community and may be final. You can contact support in Discord if you believe an action was issued in error, but we are not required to restore access, Content, or accounts.

We may act on Content or accounts without prior notice when we believe it is needed to protect members, comply with law, or stop abuse.

10. Third-party services

The Service depends on and may link to platforms we do not control, including Discord, Roblox, ER:LC / erlc.gg, Giphy, Vercel, Cloudflare, and the bot host used to run community tools. Their terms, privacy policies, availability, and content rules apply to your use of those platforms.

GIFs you attach are fetched from Giphy and remain subject to Giphy’s terms. Discord avatars and banners are loaded from Discord’s CDN. In-game location comes from the ER:LC API using a server key held on our systems, not in your browser.

We are not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, bans on those platforms, or Content that originates there.

11. Our intellectual property

The Clearwater name, logo, site design, staff panel, copy, and software (other than your Content and third-party materials) are owned by Clearwater Roleplay or its licensors. You may not copy, scrape, resell, or frame the Service except for ordinary personal use of the public pages.

The Liberty County map artwork used for Drop Location is provided for community location pins on this site. You may not extract it for unrelated commercial use.

12. Availability and changes

The Service is offered as a community amenity, not a guaranteed product. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website, Internet, bot, APIs, or Discord integrations at any time, with or without notice, including during maintenance, abuse incidents, hosting limits, or Discord/ER:LC outages.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your Clearwater Internet account from Settings.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or error-free; that Drop Location will match the correct player or coordinates; that automod will catch every violation; or that Content will be stored forever.

14. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLEARWATER ROLEPLAY AND ITS OPERATORS, STAFF, AND VOLUNTEERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, GOODWILL, PROFITS, OR ROLEPLAY PROGRESS, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE WERE ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ZERO U.S. DOLLARS OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (WHICH IS TYPICALLY ZERO, BECAUSE THE COMMUNITY SITE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT A SITE FEE).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

15. Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Clearwater Roleplay and its operators and staff from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

16. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may deactivate or delete your Clearwater Internet account in Settings. Deactivation hides your profile and posts until you sign in again. Deletion permanently erases your account, posts, and messages from the Internet store, except for moderation records we must keep to enforce bans and prevent evasion, as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you break these Terms, leave Discord, abuse the Service, or if we shut the Service down. After termination, sections that should survive (including licenses already exercised, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnity) remain in effect.

17. General

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and replace prior versions. If a court finds a provision unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with operating the community.

The Service is operated for a U.S.-based community with members elsewhere. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where that choice is prohibited. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you cannot waive under the law of your country of residence.

These Terms do not create a partnership, employment, or agency relationship. Headings are for convenience only.
